My Wedding Jewelry

5.24.20

I got married.

It was a long awaited day.

But oh so worth the wait.

There are a few charms of life you really only get to celebrate once in a lifetime. Getting a driver’s license, high school graduation, or a first kiss- are just a few examples. But none of those are quite as momentous or eagerly anticipated as a wedding day. The story of your wedding day will be one you tell again and again. It will be told through photographs, family stories, and anniversary reminiscences. But it should be told through jewelry, as well. The jewelry you wear on your wedding day immediately becomes a treasured belonging- or potentially even an heirloom, passed down through generations. Therefore, it should tell the story of your day.

Additionally, jewelry can be given as gifts that tell the stories of friendships and relationships, as well as commemorating the charms of the wedding day. Whatever stories you choose to tell on your wedding day, Origami Owl gives you the ability to customize your jewelry to include all the charms of your milestone day.

As I said, my day was long awaited. So long awaited, that I have been saving these bridal pieces since 2015! While these exact looks are no longer available, I am happy to help you design a locket with Origami Owl’s newest bridal collection.

Bridal Party

Each of my bridesmaids received a locket and a bracelet to wear on my wedding day. Each locket look consisted of a medium silver locket with crystals, a plate, and a select number of stardust. My sister wore the locket with the “maid of honor” plate and two stardust- one representing me, and one for her. The other two ladies got “bridesmaid” plates with four stardust- one piece for each year of friendship we’ve shared.

I love how the coordination of the jewelry made my bridesmaids look like a cohesive group, while still showcasing their individuality in their mismatch dresses.

While I gave the girls their necklaces a few days before the wedding, I surprised them with matching bracelets while we were getting ready on the morning-of. I gifted these adorable Rose Gold Pearl Bolo Bracelets to each of my bridesmaids, my personal attendant, and my hairdresser, as means of saying thank you for all they put in to make my dream day come true. In the month since the wedding, each girl has told me they adore their bracelets and they have worn them nearly every day since- a sign of a great gift, and a true compliment to the gift-giver.

Mothers

My mom and my mother-in-law were also gifted lockets to wear on the wedding day. They each got a Large Pearl Face locket with a “mother of the groom” or “mother of the bride plate” and an accent of stardust that coordinated with my wedding colors.

Bride

Finally, we get to my jewelry! I kept my jewelry simple because I really wanted my dress to be the major statement of the day. I chose the Dainty Rose Gold Swarovski Pearl Chain on a whim. I had been eyeing it up as an addition to my everyday jewelry for quite some time. So, when I went to buy my bridemaids’ bolo bracelets and the coordinating necklace was there on the same webpage, I impulsively added it to my cart, having no idea it would fit so well with the neckline of my dress! Like my bridesmaids, I’ve been wearing this necklace nearly every day since!

My bouquet locket consisted of a medium rose gold locket, the rose gold “I do” plate, and ten pieces of rose colored stardust- one piece for each year I’ve known my husband. The locket easily fastened to my bouquet with Origami Owl’s exquisitely gorgeous Bouquet Pin. Ugh, look how perfect it is!

My wedding day was pure perfection, chock full of charms. My jewelry served as one of those many charms. And now that the day has past, these pieces stand as treasured tokens, reminding me of my utterly perfect day. And for my friends, the gifts they wore that day continue to be worn again and again as a souvenir of the friendships we so dearly treasure. Jewelry… it can be a little charm of life, and it can serve as a reminder of the little charms of life… I think that’s pretty neat.
