Wow! What a weird, weird month this has been! Everyone is writing and talking about Covid-19- it feels as if there is nothing else to talk about. Or rather, it feels almost wrong to not talk about it. I don’t mean to discount the severity of our current situation, but I feel it better to present to you a recap of my month sans Corona Virus. Also, this is a “month in lockets” post, and I don’t currently have a way of telling the pandemic story through charms. So until Origami Owl releases a virus charm or tiny little face mask charm, don’t expect me to make any Covid themed lockets.
March: the beginning
As I recently launched my Life’s Little Charms Instagram page, I spent a lot of time this month creating graphics like the one below. Based on the graphic, can you guess what my weekend plans were?
Alright I won’t keep you guessing: I went wedding dress shopping! Oh how I would love to share pictures of my dress… but alas, you’ll have to wait until the BIG day.
The next weekend, Dylan and I celebrated our three year engagement anniversary by recreating the day he proposed. We visited Minnehaha Falls- where he popped the question, went to a Timberwolves game, and spent some time wandering around the Mall of America. We took advantage of our time in the big mall and got Dylan fitted for a suit. The day was so successful, he ended up buying two suits, so now he’s set for our wedding day and his fancy new Mechanical Engineering job.
March: the middle
Meg and I saw our last movie in the theater. We saw Emma- which I believe is now available to stream. I highly recommend it because it was SO good!
I got my new favorite necklace in the mail this month. The Inscriptions Horizontal Bar Necklace can be engraved with whatever you want. I inscribed mine with “ta da!”, which is a reference to the Great Movie Ride– my favorite job I’ve ever had. But it can also be a little victory necklace to put on in the morning: “ta da! I got out of bed and did my hair today.”
I also fell in love with this new ring from Origami Owl. It’s engraved with the encouragement “BE KIND” and covered in sparkly Cubic Zirconia:
March: the end
This is the time when things started to go downhill… but I tried my best to not let the pandemic get in the way of my life. I’ve been spending more time at home, more time on my computer, more time conversing with friends over social media, but overall I have tried to keep my life as normal as possible.
I made these super cute graphics:
Dylan and I visited our wedding venue, only to find it still completely covered in snow:
And finally, I put together this locket telling the story of my social distancing Sunday:
And that locket brings me to the end of the month. It was a wild month, filled with some very fun events and some very boring “socially distanced” days. As we head into April, let’s make a conscious decision to focus more on the charms in our lives, rather than the pandemic happening in our world. Stay home and stay healthy!
