December is the most magical time of the year. Despite the cold temps and the snow on the ground, there’s a warmth in the air that isn’t present in any other winter month. December is a month full of memories and family and nostalgia and childlike fun. All of these magical aspects of the holiday season make for magical lockets all month long.
I started the month with a series of Christmas concerts. Nothing gets you into a festive spirit more than hearing a choir sing Joy to the World. This particular locket was designed and worn by my mom to my sister’s choir concert at Bethel.
Silver and gold, silver and gold… This classy arm party was worn multiple times this season. In this particular picture, I was at my office Christmas open house. This bangle locket bracelet continues to be one of my favorite pieces, but it is unfortunately retired now *sad face*.
My sister rocked this locket combo this season. In the mini gold locket, you’ll find a manger scene charm from a Christmas collection long ago. I gifted her my retired locket ring for her birthday. It looks phenomenal on her hand. She picked out three vintage Christmas charms to wear in it this year.
On Christmas Eve I broke out the Christmas mouse from this year’s holiday collection for a little photo shoot. He’s just too cute! How fun would it be to start a new Christmas Eve tradition of hiding him somewhere in the house and, like the pickle tradition, the finder gets a present.
My grandma has a lawn ornament she puts out every year. It’s a moose covered in Christmas lights. We call it the Christmoose. This locket is an ode to him.
This is the look I wore all month. It’s simple, it’s easy, and it can be worn with basically any outfit. I often have on a pair of Clara Studs, but this season I opted for this festive red color. You’ll also notice I turned my Birthstone Bar Locket festive by filling it with red, green, and gold stones.
This is the locket I wore to each of my family Christmas celebrations. I filled this locket with lights and ornaments, because decorations are one of my favorite charms of the holiday season. You also may notice a charm in this locket that has never been on my website. That charm came out of my Mystery Jewelry Candle! Shhhhh don’t tell anyone I showed it to you.
And finally, we have my New Years Eve locket. Each year my family celebrates NYE with a fondue dinner. Here you can see my locket with an assortment of meats ready to be “fondued” in the background.
I hope you had a charm of a December filled with magic and wonder. As we move into the new year, I want to know… do you pick an intention word for each year? This has been a trend for awhile now. While I have never done it, I really like the idea of having one intention to last the whole year. For those of you who are declaring a word this year, I propose to you this idea:
