April: Remember how the month started? Well Let me remind you.
April 2:
Kinda pretty right? Well then it turned into this:
April 12:
Minnesota gifted us with one last snowstorm. The final measurement: 13 inches! But it didn’t stick around for long because by…
April 15:
I was celebrating my birthday with ice cream, fresh tulips, and only a few piles of snow on the ground.
April 18:
I was prepping for Easter. I had plans to make adorable Easter bunny cookies, but instead opted for Italian Easter Bread. I didn’t take any good pictures of the bread, but trust me, it was delicious and I would definitely make this recipe again!
By the middle of April, the snow had gone away and I had a handful of tulips coming up in my garden!
April 21: Easter
We celebrated Easter with Dylan’s family on Saturday, and Sunday was spent with my family. It was a laid back Easter, instead of cooking we decided to go to the Casino for their Easter buffet.
April 24:
Meg and I had been going for after-school walks almost everyday in April. But on this day it was finally warm enough to wear shorts! We also saw our first glimpse of summer when we stumbled across this little fella:
Did you know that turtles are in the same family as dinosaurs? I just learned that from Google. So I’ve been telling people I caught and held a dinosaur. No body believes me.
April 25:
Those cute little tulips that were coming up? Yeah they’re gone. Thanks to the bitter winter, the deer have made their way into town for food. This morning I woke up to all of my tulips looking like this AND my succulents (which I had just put out) had been snacked on as well! Grrrr
April 26:
She had been teasing it for some time… and the day finally came: A BRAND NEW TAYLOR SWIFT SONG!
Here you can see the evolution of the “ME!” Instagram filter. It changed each day until the release of the song. Man it feels good to have new Taylor Swift music to listen to again. And this song is SOOOO fun!
April 27:
It all led up to this… Avengers: Endgame. I created what may possibly be my favorite locket ever for this epic cinematic event.
Meg and I picked up our cousins after school and headed up to Grand Rapids to see the much anticipated movie. Knowing it was a three hour movie, we bought tickets for the 5:20 showing, so we could get out before it was too late into the night. Unfortunately, this early show was filled to the brim with unattended middle schoolers. Regardless of the constant movement and whispers and flying popcorn, we were still able to enjoy all the emotions of this last chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
April 30:
I got a hair cut for the first time in over a year! It feels AMAZING! I was really in the mood for something more fun and summery and my stylist nailed it.
