Weekend Recap: Brought to you by snow, dirt, and wedding planning

You may have noticed that I didn’t have any posts last week. Due to the busyness of the week, I couldn’t find any time to write posts. So I took the week off, focused on my many real jobs, and now I am back. Did ya miss me? Don’t worry I have a little recap for you to bring you up to speed.

Snow

Snow in October

It snowed this week and it made my heart oh so very happy. I woke up on Friday morning to a nice white blanket covering the neighborhood. It made for a beautiful morning drive. While the snow weighed heavy on the leaves, the trees continued to hold on to their colors. As the sun rose, it hit the trees and created the most interesting picture with the warm orange and yellow leaves shining through a layer of glittering wet snow. My iPhone camera simply could not do it justice.

Dirt

Meanwhile, my garden was not looking near as beautiful. I finally pulled the dead plants out of my raised garden. It was a sad, yet very satisfying experience. I loved watching my plants grow this summer. There is something very amazing about a garden; watching tiny seeds and little sprouts turn into five foot tall tomato plants right before your eyes really showcases the imagination of Creator God. While the plants were neat, they didn’t yield much. I was able to enjoy a great head of lettuce, some little onions, and my fill of cherry tomatoes. I am already planning my 2019 garden. Are you?

Wedding Planning

On Sunday my Grandma and I went to a wedding expo at our local casino. Though it was small, we left feeling satisfyingly inspired. The expo included a fashion show that showcased the gamut of wedding wear. Gram and I thoroughly enjoyed watching the runway, but both decided were not huge fans of the current bridal trends. (I mean, come on, what is going on with all of those plunging necklines?) The cake on the other hand; we are totally for any excessive cake trend as long as it still tastes delicious.

The best part of the whole day… I WAS THE WINNER OF THE GRAND PRIZE DRAWING. I went home with a $500 gift certificate to any vendor of my choice! Which definitely means I just added an extra $500 to my floral budget. Boy, how exciting is that?

What I’m Wearing

This wouldn’t be a proper life’s little charms blog post without a locket or two. Considering my week/weekend has been filled with a variety of events, moments, and jumping from one job to the next; I simply could not come up with a good locket to pair with the post. So rather I am giving you a little “what I’m wearing”. So here is the exact outfit I wore one day this week:

Origami Owl Fall Outfit

While it may have snowed already, I am still in a total fall mood. I’ve been wearings sweaters, lots of gold, and many, many pumpkins.

My favorite part about these pumpkins is that they’re double sided. Real pumpkins are a decorative and delicious charm of this season. In the same way, these charms have dual use; one day I can spice up my outfit with a locket of orange pumpkins, the next day my locket can have a classy look with black and white pumpkins. Versatile pieces are always my favorite. What do you prefer? Unique pieces that stand out, or versatile pieces that can be worn over and over again? Let me know in the comments.

And there you have my weekend in a recap. It was a busy weekend (my favorite as you know), and I am looking forward to another busy weekend coming up. But before we get there we must make it through the week. Luckily the Origami Owl Holiday Collection is revealed tonight so that will keep me excited for the rest of the week! Stay tuned for looks at the festive new jewelry!
