This coming weekend marks the official beginning of fall. The leaves on my street are beginning to change color, the air is getting crisper, and I have added a pumpkin to my front stoop. We can now enjoy our Pumpkin Spice Lattes guilt-free and soon our Instagram feeds will be filled with scenes of pumpkin patches and apple orchards.
This past weekend, the Minnesota weather decided to give summer one last hurrah. Temperatures almost hit 90 degree on Sunday afternoon, setting a new record high for the day. I was able to spend this beautiful weekend day doing my favorite thing: staying busy. I hate lazy weekends and I was able to escape yet another one.
On Sunday afternoon my cousins took me out for an impromptu goose hunt. This adventure was totally unexpected as you will notice I am still wearing my church clothes. Honestly, I didn’t do much aside from posing for this picture. But I sure enjoyed running through the field handing shells to my cousin.
Later in the afternoon, Meg and I went to the lake to enjoy one last swim. We started our summer with a dip in the lake and we finished it in the same way. At the end of the day we pulled the ladder out of the water and left the dock longing for summer to start again.
The warmth of summer is behind us, but I’m still smiling because it means we are that much closer to CHRISTMAS!
Oh! and the very best part of the whole day was walking to the lake without a single bug in sight! September is a magical month.
And one more thing…
Did I ever mention that I try to go to the movie theater once a week? This week Meg and I went to see Crazy Rich Asians. We were both really craving some China Buffet beforehand so we of course had to fulfill the urge. The movie was great, the food was as good as a Chinese buffet ever is. I would definitely recommend both.
Have a great weekend friends! Drink your PSL and apple cider with vigor because it is officially FALL!
